These profiles open up another feature in Google Maps: following and being followed. The idea is that you want to follow local experts whose opinion is important to you in which places as well as to friends and family. To follow someone in the Google Maps app for Android or iOS, tap on their name on the review or rating, then select Follow.
To see your own followers, use the shortcut above inside the Google Maps app: Contribution, Then View your profile. Tap on Supporter Link (who will have a number, even if it is zero) to see who is following you. You can also see the people you are following (and unfollow people if necessary).
To manually approve each new follow-up, tap what you get edit Profile, Then Profile and Privacy Settings From your profile, turn on more Restricted profile toggle switch. When your profile is restricted, only your followers will be able to see your reviews and ratings on Google Maps, as well as who you are following.
Use news feed
If you tap Update Then For you In the Google Maps mobile app, you’ll see a news feed: It’s adding updates to nearby places, along with updates from the people and businesses you’re following, who might be interested in Google’s algorithms (Change) in the local restaurant’s menu, for example).
To find options for editing anything on this feed, tap the three dots in the top right corner of anything on this feed that you work in – you can specify the areas you’re interested in And which are not interested in you, indicate which updates match your tastes and which do not, and more.
If you tap to open to explore Move up the tab and the information tab below, you will see a similar list of updates based on the area you are currently in. We noticed some overlap between the two screens in terms of photos and updates, but if you go to a new or unusual place you don’t visit often, the Explore tab is likely to be more useful.
